[Case Study] Time Synchronization Outdoors: Radio Wave Propagation Measurement in Outdoor Mobile Communication Environments
Time synchronization of devices at two distant locations! We utilized TB-1 for field verification of the 6G mobile communication system.
We will introduce a case study on "Time Synchronization in Outdoor Environments." Associate Professor Minseok Kim of Niigata University (interviewed in March 2022) is engaged in research on radio wave propagation measurement in outdoor mobile communication environments. In this instance, during field tests of a 6G mobile base station and mobile devices under study, the field time sync generator "TB-1" was adopted to obtain accurate 1-second pulses synchronized to UTC at two distant locations. After confirming synchronization between rubidium oscillators in the laboratory, a field evaluation was conducted in the area around Yokohama Kannai Station. This made it possible to measure radio wave propagation characteristics in practical usage environments. [Case Study] ■ Challenges - The required synchronization accuracy could not be achieved because the rubidium oscillators were independent. - Cesium oscillators were also considered, but they were expensive and difficult to transport. ■ Product Introduced: Field Time Sync Generator "TB-1" *For more details, please refer to the related link page or feel free to contact us.
